Enlightenment

When hearts have been turned from errant ways,
And minds returned to reasoning virtues,
Then nature, it would seem, would open its skies
Pushing away the rainy grey veils.

Unleashed, the light of a golden dawn
Upon pining minds in wayward webs
Of lies and scandal scathing the soul,
Would dispel the darkness of ignorance.

Then gloomy clouds and curtains of rain
Shall break away in tattered shreds
Revealing a golden dawn beyond:
Shafts of glory piercing the skies.
